WineShouts – 04/24/2015 Edition

Happy weekend wine lovers!  We’ve put together a few spots where you can get your wine on this weekend in L.A.  and points North.  Know about another great spot or event this weekend or upcoming?  Please let us know in the comments or send us an email (see below).  Cheers!

Rose Extravaganza at domaineLA (Los Angeles) – 4/26/2015

Its hard to express how much I love a good Rosé but suffice it to say, it’s ALOT.  So how about a Rosé tasting with Lobster Rolls?!?  That is full of win.  The folks at domaineLA are pouring Rosés and serving Lobster Rolls from Knuckle & Claw at their Sunday tasting this week.   Great flight representing a variety of different Rosé styles.  Man up and drink pink wine!

Santa Barbara Vintners Spring Weekend (Throughout SBC)

Great googly moogly!  It seems like there is some mega wine event happening every weekend up in the Santa Ynez Valley.  I’m not sure why we all haven’t moved there yet.  Here we have all 120 wineries belonging to the Vintners’ Association participating in a wide variety of festivities over the weekend.  The highlight being the grand tasting on Saturday at River View Park in Buellton.   See the list of wineries here.

Tasty lineup  at Wine Expo (Santa Monica)

They’ve got some new flights available at Wine Expo in Santa Monica this week.  It’s the Spanish and Italians that make me want to get in the car and get over there ASAP.  Did you know they also do 20 for 20 tastings on Monday and Thursday nights?  20 bucks to taste a changing line up of 20 wines each week.  You can find the list on the Events page of their website.  Great way to liven up a week night!

Heads Up for Next Weekend

There may not be Wineshouts next Friday due to travel.  Here are a couple of happenings next weekend for good measure.

Santa Rita Hills Winegrowers Tasting at The Cave (Ventura) – 5/3/2015

The Cave is hosting a tasting with 20 members of the Santa Rita Hills Winegrowers Alliance from 3-5 PM on Sunday the 3rd.  Live Music and appetizers and, as always, the best wine prices in town at the attached retail shop.

Wine Camp – Introduction to Wine (W. Hollywood) – 5/3/2015

Wine pro Ian Blackburn runs killer wine education and events for all levels through his and wineLA brands.   This event is a fun and tasty way to indoctrinate beginners into the wine life and you might learn something too!  And as always, you get to taste a bunch of delicious wines.  Get your Uber app warmed up and go have a great dinner nearby afterwards.
